HEART-CENTRED YOGA AND SELF-CARE FOR SEASONAL TRANSFORMATION
“February is the single rose in the cold. The hesitant rise of hope. The cracked heart still opening”, Victoria Erickson
February can be a challenging month…it is far into winter but also a long way from true spring. However, it is traditionally a month centred around love, with hope arising, a month of unfurling and giving way to an urge to move forward and prepare for spring ahead. Join Lorna Fisher and Charlie Anderson Sumner with over 30 years of yoga teaching experience between them for an afternoon exploring how we can both nourish and nurture our hearts with a full programme of yoga practices. This retreat afternoon offers an opportunity to embrace and explore mindful movement, breath and rest - shifting the stagnant energy and lethargy of winter, make our hearts sing and prepare for the vibrancy of spring ahead. Together Charlie and Lorna will lead you to embrace the awakening with a creative heart focused flow which warms and revives and to indulge in deep rest and intentional Self Care through yoga philosophy, restorative yoga and meditation. This retreat aims to foster compassion to self and others at this challenging time of year.
You can expect:
- An extended, heart-awakening creative vinyasa flow yoga session underpinned with metta meditation and featuring twists and backbends specifically designed to energise and uplift. Some sequences/asanas will be challenging but modifications always offered to accommodate all levels.
- A heart-centred restorative yoga session (using all the props) designed to deeply nourish and relax your body and mind
- An interweaving of pranayama and mudras throughout the afternoon
- Yoga philosophy centred around Anāhata, the heart chakra and all the mystery it holds
- Time for tea, delicious, sweet treats and to connect with us and your fellow retreaters
- Gifted Self Care treats to take home with you

A Long Class on a Sunday with Kath
12:30pm — 3:00pm | All Levels
In this longer class we have a little more time to go in depth with aspects of asana technique. Usually there will be more inversions, (handstand, forearm balance, headstand) but it does vary. The class will take the form of a flowing, dynamic, alignment based asana class, finishing with some simple breathing practices and short sitting meditation, and sometimes a longer guided relaxation, yoga nidra. Not suitable for complete beginners, but all levels are welcome.
