Style(s): Hatha Yoga, Iyengar


I have been teaching yoga since 1997 having practiced for over 10 years with various teachers and approaches. My teaching is grounded in the Iyengar style, in which I have been trained, but is influenced by the dynamic flow of Astanga vinyasa, which was my main practice for many years. I also have a Yoga Therapy Diploma from YBT. Since 2007 I have regularly attended retreats with Clive Sheridan, who has become my main teacher and influence these days.
I hope to make yoga accessible to all, teaching techniques that leave the body and mind relaxed and revitalised.
My Wednesday 6.15pm class is for beginners, so no previous yoga experience is necessary to come along. It is fairly slow paced, and aims to introduce the asana (physical) practice and give a good grounding in the postures.
The 8pm class is a more general/intermediate level and not suitable for complete beginners. Some experience of Sun Salutations is helpful. It is a little faster paced, and may include more challenging poses and sometimes inversions (shoulderstand/headstand). I always give variations and alternatives so there are options for all who might attend, and in this way hope to make the classes accessible to everyone.
