The Turning of the Seasons: Autumn to Winter
2:00pm — 4:30pm | All Levels
Each season holds a particular energy and in this workshop we shall be exploring this through creative vinyasa sequencing, intuitive embodied movement, mudras, bandhas and breathwork to see how we can benefit from aligning ourselves with this energy. Each workshop is a self-contained practice and can be attended individually or as an exploration of the turning of two separate seasons – the shift from Summer to Autumn and Autumn to Winter. A slice of cake will be on offer towards the end and a chance for us to come together and practice in person.
As L.M. Montgomery said, “But there is always a November space after the leaves have fallen”, and it is this space which we shall be exploring in this workshop. Space to move, to breathe and to rest as we start to navigate a busy period for many. Vata energy remains dominant, but we shall build on the grounding established in the previous September workshop (with a brief recap for those who are attending this Workshop only) and focus more on Svadisthana (pleasure and connection to self) and Anahata (kindness and compassion) with hip openers, backbends and more balances, plus relaxation and calming breath practices including dirgha breath and coherent breathing. We will explore the benefits behind this science backed breathing practices. Modifications and variations will be offered to ensure the workshop is open level. My aim is to invite an opportunity to connect with our bodies through creative, intuitive, embodied movement and restful yoga practices, yoga philosophy, breathwork and relaxation. Ensuring we support our own needs before we start to enter an often-frenetic festive period. Embracing space physically and mentally will be key.

£35 (£60 for both workshops)
